Kid Koala (vinyl manipulation master) will be in Knoxville on October 10th, 2009 at Club Catalyst. This may be a once in a life-time opportunity to see him in East TN (or TN period). Kid Koala creates musical masterpieces by cutting up, mixing, and down-right playing with vinyls on turntables.  Check out more info on the Catalyst Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=133372124280&index=1.

Kid Koala tickets are $12 in advance / $15 at the door.

Shows starts at 10:00pm.

Don’t miss what will surely be one of the best DJ shows in Knoxville history!

Promoting the recently released “Your Mom’s Favorite DJ” album, Kid Koala is sure to put on an amazing show.  There’s a good reason its described as, “Turntablism at its best!”

    POST SHOW:

The Kid Koala, Modifi, Telepath show at the Catalyst in Knoxville, TN this past Saturday was freakin’ amazing! All DJ’s performed exceptionally and Telepath rocked the house early into Sunday morning.

Kid Koala was promoting his last album, Your Mom’s Favorite DJ that was released in 2007, but he performed a bunch of new stuff that I can only imagine will be on his newest project. You can read more about Kid Koala and his tour dates, his albums, his artwork (yes, he does bad@ss artwork too) on his web site at http://nufonia.com.

If you attended the show, post your comments here and on Kid Koala webpage dedicated to the show at the Catalyst at http://nufonia.com/tour/catalyst/.

Following the show, some friends and I went to the Waffle House on Papermill Dr. and a few minutes later Kid Koala and Modifi walked in (guess they were feeling some late night grub too). Kid Koala even recognized us from the show, came over and chatted, and took a picture of Aaron’s eggs, hash browns, and raisin-toast.

The next morning, my roommate said he showed up at a house party he was at, I guess after the Waffle House trip. What a personable, down-to-earth, star (Kid Koala). I still can’t believe he made the trip to Knoxville from Montreal but I know anyone who attended will not soon forget the DJ skills they witnessed.

It was an amazing set. Amazing skills. Amazing night. Thank you to The Catalyst, the performers, and all who participated!
