I hope you made it to the show!

It was much more than I had posted, I must have missed the bulletin.

Black Atticus performed after DJ Simon Belmont laid down some sick tunes. They rocked the house until about 12pm when Flashmob took the stage for what may turn out to be their last show…

Their drummer, Britches, is taking some time off to work on some other projects leaving the heavy, thumpin’ sound of Flashmob, drumless.

They’ve talked to a couple possible replacements but no one will be able to actually replace Britches. He put his energy into developing the beats and anyone else would only be trying to learn his style. They could modify their existing songs with new beats but…,

I also heard rumors that they may re-emerge from the darkness under a new name with a new drummer, once they find the right one (and that won’t be easy!)

I guess now all I can do is pray that they were able to, or are still going to before Britches is unaccessible, record and release an album. I would have bought one at their first show, and maybe more than one just to hand out to spread the word.

Last night’s show at the World Grotto had one of their largest (paid) turnouts with 50+ people showing up to feel their energy and enjoy their music. They played an amazing show and all I can say is if you never made it to a show…, you really missed out. I’ll certainly be posting updates to the drummer situation and will probably start a new post dedicated to it.

You can still hear a sample of thier sound on their myspace page… As long as it stays up.
