So, what does everybody think about the Valarium?>
I haven’t been there yet but I guess it’s supposed to be the new “spot” / venue. I am interested in hearing what anyone has to say either as a club-goer or as a performer.
Good drinks?
Good atmosphere?
Good bands?
Good staff?
And the accoustics?
Thanks in advance for your input!
It reminds me of the Underground in 1998. Not exactly Hip Hop oriented but I guess they out on some groups as a venue, just not last night. There was a DJ playing a whole range of dance, electronica music mixed with some pop songs.
I had a few Jack & Cokes for $6 a piece, and they were poured pretty strong. Some good looking ladies, quite crowed, not a bad experience at all.
There’s an outdoors back porch type area too that seemed to have it’s own atmosphere all together. And, and upstairs loft/blacony that looks down on the dance floor and stage area up front.
The staff seemed nice. There were several people walking around constantly picking up empty glasses and trash so it kept it looking pretty good. Not trashy.
Again, I had a dectn time… but, I’m really looking forward to the reopening of the old Blue Cats spot in the Old City. I got the word the other day that it was being reopened by new management later this year. Check back to the site for updates on this, I’ll be posting them as soon as I get the inside scoop.

Two thumbs Up. Valarium is a great time. It’s a classy joint with a dress code. Voo Doo night is a good time to go (saturday). It’s a large venue with an upstairs area and a large dance floor, cage dancers, great lighting and great sound. Dress to impress or you won’t get in!
This is the place to go if you are looking for a venue more akin to somewhere like LA or London. It’s better than the old Blue Cat’s, Tonic combo in my opinion.
Thanks for the Valarium comments England Jay!
